Deepti Sharma, who is currently the skipper of the UP Warriorz in the Women’s Premier League, was retained by the London Spirit after a stellar season in 2024.
She had stepped up with both bat and ball, scoring 212 runs while taking eight wickets in eight games at an E.R of 6.85. Her MVP performance for the London Spirit played a key role in them winning their first championship. In the final, she came in as the finisher and won the title for the London Spirit, sealing victory in style with a six.
Deepti was one of the three Indians to take part in the last edition of the Hundred, alongside Smriti Mandhana and Richa Ghosh. While Mandhana played for the Southern Brave, Ghosh played for the Birmingham Phoenix. Both Mandhana and Ghosh had a lacklustre performance with the bat in the season and, hence, weren’t retained by their respective franchises.
