Earlier on March 2 (Sunday), Glenn Phillips pulled off a stunning catch to dismiss Virat Kohli, where he dove to his right and grabbed it with one hand. Kane Williamson did something similar to dismiss Ravindra Jadeja, who he caught at backward point, diving to his left. Both catches were snapped up during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 between India and New Zealand in Dubai.
The Black Caps have made a habit of taking stunning catches in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Even earlier in the tournament, Phillips took a superb catch against Pakistan to send Mohammad Rizwan back.
Jadeja and Hardik Pandya were in the middle of a superb partnership after India had lost a couple of quick wickets. However, it took a terrific catch to dismiss the southpaw and bring an end to the partnership, which was worth 41 at better than-run-a-ball pace.
Earlier, New Zealand won the toss and opted to bowl. Shreyas Iyer hit 79 to resurrect the innings after India were in trouble early on in the first powerplay. His knock, along with Axar Patel's 42 and Hardik Pandya's 46, took India to 249/9.
Both India and New Zealand have already qualified for the Champions Trophy. The winner of this match will take on Australia in the semis, while the other team will face South Africa.
