When Will Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma Next Play For India?
Kohli and Rohit's return has been further delayed by the Bangladesh tour cancelation
Virat Kohli has been in the headlines in the past 24 hours after being spotted at Wimbledon cheering for his good friend Novak Djokovic, but the visuals were yet another cruel reminder of the new reality Indian fans are coping with: Kohli is no longer an active Test cricketer.
Only a few months back, Kohli was expected to be playing in the five-Test series against England, but he is now cheering the team on from the sidelines and enjoying some well-deserved time off in London, where he currently resides.
It’s going to be a long break for both him and Rohit Sharma, both of whom are only active in the ODI format, having retired from the other two.
They were expected to return to international action in the series against Bangladesh in August, but with that tour now being canned, their return has been delayed further. So, when will we next see Kohli and Rohit don the Indian colours?
Kohli, Rohit will be in International action only in October
With the tour of Bangladesh, scheduled for August, cancelled, fans will have to wait till October to see both Kohli and Rohit play for India.
That’s right, India were scheduled to play three ODIs in Australia from October 19 to October 25, and the series Down Under will likely mark the return of both the veterans. In a way, returning to Australia will be bittersweet as both Kohli and Rohit ended up playing their last Tests there.
The series will start in Perth, move to Adelaide and then finish in Sydney.
Australia vs India ODI series schedule
1st ODI - October 19th in Perth
2nd ODI - October 23 in Adelaide
3rd ODI - October 25 in Sydney
