Team India are fighting hard to save the Manchester Test as KL Rahul and Shubman Gill batted out two complete sessions without losing a wicket. They have made a massive recovery after being 0/2 losing Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sai Sudharsan in the first over. Ben Stokes started the day by notching up his third century at Old Trafford. He joined an elite list of Jacques Kallis and Garry Sobers in becoming the third player to complete 7000+ runs and 200+ wickets in Tests. India have ended day 4 with 174 runs on the board. They still trail by 137 runs with eight wickets in hand.
A big Sunday is loading as India will aim to draw the Test and England to seal the series.
KL Rahul once again has managed to step up for India in this series as the experienced opener scored his fourth 50+ score of the series. He has managed to score a 50+ score in all four Tests with two of them in Leeds and Lord's getting converted to a century. He is on the path of getting his third century of the series here as he will enter day 5 at an unbeaten score of 87*. He has a superb record against England on Day 5. In the two instances that he has batted, the Englishman has managed to score 109 runs at an average of 54.7. There will be expectations of him to score big and help India draw this Test match.
Shubman Gill managed to rectify his errors from last three innings and has done well in scoring a superb 78*. He has made sure to bat out two sessions on Day 4 without losing a wicket posting an unbeaten 180 run partnership with KL Rahul. His record in the third innings against England has been spectacular as he has four 50+ scores in seven innings. With him having gotten a start here, expect him to maintain the same tempo and score his 4th century of the series.
Jofra Archer has been lethal is this series, managing to trap batters with his plans. He will have to play a big hand in bowling out team India on Day five and sealing the Test and the series for England. On Day 5, he has take nine wickets in seven innings at a excellent average of 18.0 and economy of 2.3. It will be interesting to see whether he will channel this final day aggression and deliver for England by taking 3-4 wickets.
