The Lord's Test is all set for an epic finale on Day 5 as India need 135 runs to win and England require six wickets to go up 2-1 in the series. KL Rahul is once again the stable batter holding one end at 33* with Gill, Jaiswal, Nair and nightwatchman Akash Deep already in the hut.
With the likes of Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja yet to come and England bowlers going full guns blazing, here is what we can expect from Day 5.
Pacers have dominated at Lord's. Like the other three innings, the record is well maintained in the fourth innings as Lord's is the only venue in England since 2021 where they have averaged below 30. They have managed 42 wickets, which is the most in any venue and with England pacers already taking four wickets, expect Stokes and his men to be lethal coming into Day 5.
Rishabh Pant will be a massive factor in India winning this Test as the stylish left-handed batter has been in situations like these when he has led India to famous victories. The best example can be the 2021 Gabba Test in Brisbane, where he led India to victory in a 328-run chase. He has experience batting on Day 5 as he has scored 415 runs at an average of 59.29. He will be the most important batter along with Rahul in this run chase on July 14 (Monday)
Ben Stokes is going to play a massive role on Day 5 if England are to win this Test match. He has records on his side as well as his best bowling has been while defending targets in the fourth innings. With him finishing Day 4 in style with the wicket of Akash Deep, he will be expected to take the big guns in Rahul and Pant on Monday.
We are in for another bright and sunny day in London. However, the chances of precipitation go up to 15% at about 3 PM local time, by which we should ideally have a result. The temperatures will be at a pleasent 21°C to 24°C through the day. We have not had any delay due to rains in this match, and it promises to be the same on the final day.
