With stars like Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, and Shardul Thakur leading the charge and young guns like Musheer Khan and Angkrish Raghuvanshi looking to make their mark, the league promises a high-voltage showcase of international pedigree, IPL flair, and Mumbai’s finest emerging talent.
Let’s take a look at some of the best players who are set to light up the event, happening between June 4 and June 12 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
Among other notable names, Mumbai South Central Maratha Royals feature Tushar Deshpande, Siddhesh Lad, and Arman Jaffar in their squad. While Deshpande is currently in England with the India A team, Lad and Jaffar are expected to be available for the entire duration of the tournament, adding depth and experience to the side.
The presence of Sarfaraz Khan and Shams Mulani makes Aakash Tigers Mumbai Western Suburbs one of the most competitive sides in the T20 Mumbai 2025. While both have excelled for the Mumbai Ranji team in red-ball cricket, fans can expect their trademark consistency to translate into the shortest format as well. The team also boast Jay Bista, who has been in decent form with the bat since his return to Mumbai from Uttarakhand.
Eagle Thane Strikers were hoping to bank on the experience of Shardul Thakur, but his selection in the Indian team for the Test side ruled that possibility. They will, however, have former India U-19 star Atharva Ankolekar, a left-arm spinner who can also contribute with the bat.
ARCS Andheri have two strong names in Shivam Dube and Musheer Khan, apart from former Mumbai Indians batter Akhil Herwadkar. The first two are fresh off IPL experience, and Herwadkar has years of experience behind him.
SoBo Mumbai Falcons have hit the jackpot with Shreyas Iyer. Fresh from leading Punjab Kings to IPL final, Iyer will turn up for the South Bombay franchise in the T20 Mumbai. They will also have the presence of KKR batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi, who has taken his batting to a new level in the just-concluded IPL.
Even though Prithvi Shaw has fallen out of favour when it comes to playing for India and the IPL, he still has a sense of belonging on the Mumbai circuit. He could use his presence with the North Mumbai Panthers as a launchpad to change that perception about himself. Off-spinner Tanush Kotian is currently in England as part of the A set-up, but he will soon be joining the franchise. They will also have the services of Mumbai’s reliable pacer Mohit Avasthi to push them through.
KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane will lead Bandra Blasters in the upcoming T20 Mumbai. Even though the side don’t have many fancied names apart from Rahane, the likes of Suved Parkar, who scored a double hundred on Ranji debut, and left-arm pacer Atif Attarwala will be eager to prove themselves.
Triumph Knights Mumbai North East will bank on the services of Indian T20 skipper Suryakumar Yadav, arguably the best T20 batter in the world at the moment. Do I need to say more? SKY will also have Parikshit Valsangkar, who was part of the extended MI squad in IPL 2025, alongside him.
