The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the Annual Player Contracts for Team India (Senior Men) for the 2024-25 season (October 1st, 2024 to September 30th, 2025), with Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan making a return to the list after being excluded last year.
Shreyas Iyer, who made headlines last year after his exclusion and alleged refusal to play domestic cricket, has been included in Grade B alongside Suryakumar Yadav and Kuldeep Yadav. Iyer played a crucial role in India’s winning run in the ICC Champions Trophy earlier this year, in addition to his consistent domestic performances.
Similarly, Ishan Kishan has also made a comeback to the reckoning with a Grade C contract. Kishan was also excluded from the contract last year following his absence from the domestic circuit. Kishan last represented India in December 2023.
The elite Grade A+ features the big four – Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravindra Jadeja. Meanwhile, KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, Mohammad Shami, and Mohammad Siraj make up Grade A.
The contract list includes 34 players, including Rinku Singh, Tilak Verma, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube, Ishan Kishan, and Abhishek Sharma.
