Vaibhav Suryavanshi Breaks Shubman Gill's India Record With Brilliant Display vs England

The teenager recently smashed the fastest hundred at the Under-19 level

14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi was in terrific form in the five-match Youth One-Day International (YODI) series against England. He slammed 355 runs at 71 along with a mindblowing strike rate of 174.01. He also slammed a century - the youngest by any player in a YODI and got to the landmark off just 52 deliveries, which is the fastest at this level.

Other than that, he also slammed a fifty in the series, which he scored off just 20 balls, the second fastest by an Indian. In the five matches, he scored 48 (19), 45 (34), 86 (31), 143 (78), 33 (42).

India won the series 3-2, but Suryavanshi etched his name in history books at the end. His 355 runs in the series are the most in a bilateral Under-19 series for India. He beat Shubman Gill, who had scored 351 runs in four innings against England in 2017.
