The Birmingham Test has come to a very good stage as team India are at the top at the end of Day 3 with India having 244 runs lead. Jamie Smith was the star batter on Day 3 as the Surrey batter scored the highest score for an England keeper besting Surrey legend Alec Stewart by scoring an unbeaten 184*. Brook and Smith had a spectacular 303-run partnership, which helped England avoid a follow-on.
With India expected to dominate on Day 4, here are possible things we can expect tomorrow.
Birmingham has been a great batting track so far in the first three days of this Test. The pattern will be expected to continue on Day 4 in England since 2021 the best run rate has been in Birmingham as batters have scored 3.8 runs per over averaging 31.9. With KL Rahul looking strong on 28*, there will be expectations of him scoring a big one.
India's batting in the third innings has been outstanding in recent times as they have scored at 4.1 runs per over at an average of 41.7 which is the best for any team in last 18 months. With India having a terrific start with 63/1 at the end of Day 3, we can predict them scoring at least 300 runs and batting out England from the match.
Shoaib Bashir has done well in the latter half of the Test match as the off-spinner has taken eight wickets in four innings, averaging 26 on Day 4, which is his best of any of the five days of a Test. Though he has conceded runs at 4.1 runs per over, he has a bowling SR of 38.1 which is outstanding. Expect him to he holding one end and test the Indian batters.
The precipitation chances are around 60% in the morning, with 71% humidity. However, it will be completely overcast with 99%of cloud cover being predicted with a couple of spells of rain. The conditions remain largely the same during the afternoon, however, the cloud cover will slightly reduce.
As the predictions currently stand, evening looks like the time when the chances of rain are the least, with only a 55% chance of precipitation.
